Gli ausiliari sono estremamente importanti nella conversazione

nelle short answer

le domande che richiedono una risposta si oppure no richiedono gli ausiliari. Il soggetto se un nome è sostituito da un pronome :

Do you go ? Yes, I do / No, I don’t

can you swim ? Yes,I can / No, I can’t

Has Mary a dog ? Yes, she has / No she hasn’t

Did you go ? Yes, I did / No I didn’t

Il consenso con frase affermativa con yes /so / of course + ausiliare affermativo

Mary sleeps to much. Yes, she does

Mary may be at the park Yes she may

Il disaccordo ma con frase negativa con yes + ausiliare affermativo

Mary doesn’t sleep to much Yes she does

il consenso di una frase negativa con no + ausiliare negativo

It wouldn’t take long No, wouldn’t

Il disaccordo con una frase affermativa con no + ausiliare negativo

Your brother will leave tomorrow No, he won’t

Question tags

le question tags sono brevi frasi aggiunte a frasi che richiedono un consenso

dopo una frase negativa utilizziamo una normale interrogativa

You didn’ see her, did you ?

Mary can’t cook, can she ?

Dopo una frase affermativa utilizziamo una domanda interrogativa negativa

John helped him, didn’t he ?

Di solito i verbi negativi sono contratti

sono irregolari : I’m late, aren’t I Let’s go, shall we

il soggetto dei tags è sempre un pronome

Quando il soggetto è no one, nobody, anyone, anybody, none, neither utilizziamo il soggetto they come soggetto della question tag

None of the glasses are borken, are they?

Quando il soggetto è everybody, everyone, somebody, someone utilizziamo il soggetto they nella question tag

Con il present simple usiamo don’t /doesn’t mentre nel past simple utilizziamo didn’t
