questo tempo verbale è formata dal present perfect del verbo essere + il participio passato
affermativa I have been working – he has been working ……………
negativa I have not / haven’t working – he has not/ hasn’t working……..
interrogativa Have you been working ?– Has he been working ?…..
interrogativa negativa Haven’t you been working ? - Hasn’t he been working ? …….
USO
E’ utilizzato per un’azione che è iniziata nel passato e sta ancora continuando o è appena finita
I’ve been waiting for an hour
sorry ! Have you been waiting long ?
In certi casi i verbi che non possono essere coniugati ai tempi continuous possono avere dei significati particolari
Tom has been seeing a work permit for you
She has been having a tooth out
I’ve been thinking it over
Non viene utilizzato nella forma passiva
comparazione tra present perfect simple e continuous
un azione che inizia nel passato e sta ancora continuando o è appena terminata con certi verbi può essere utilizzato sia il simple che il continuous
he has lived her for six weeks
he has been living her for six weeks
con i verbi che non utilizzano i tempi continuous si deve per forza utilizzare i simple presenta
They’ve always had a big garden
un’azione che si ripete puèò essere espressa con il continuous
I’ve written letters since breakfast
I’ve been writing letters since breakfast
notare la differenza
I’ve put coal on the fire (this job has been done
I’ve been putting coal on the fire ( this is how I’ve spent the last five minutes)
